Anita So Chan co-founded Garhwal, Chan & Williams with Mr. Hari Garhwal in January 1996.  Garhwal, Chan & Williams is a certified public accounting firm based in San Francisco, California.  We provide tax, accounting and consulting services to clients both in the United States and overseas, including Hong Kong, China, Japan, and Europe.  Ms. Chan’s services include providing tax planning and compliance services, estate planning, business management and consulting, and accounting services.  She has consulted Asian nationals on various U.S. investment and taxation issues.

 

Ms. Chan was born and raised in Hong Kong.  She graduated from Good Hope School and is fluent in Chinese.  Ms. Chan continued her college education in the San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. She also completed executive education programs at both Columbia University/CEIBS and the University of Michigan Business School. Ms. Chan is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner.

Ryan Chang was born in Taiwan and moved to the United States when he was a teenager. Mr. Chang has been practicing law since 2003 with a main focus in real estate, corporate, business, and investment immigration law.

 

Mr. Chang has counseled and assisted property developers, company owners, entrepreneurs, and foreign investors with a wide variety of legal issues ranging from entitlement/land use, to corporate formation, to investment structure such as joint venture partnership or investment immigration.

 

Mr. Chang has worked with foreign investors and company owners from China, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, and Taiwan and counseled them in areas of international trade, foreign real estate investment and development, and corporate merger and acquisition.  Because of his understandings in Easter and Western cultures, Mr. Chang has developed a vast knowledge of issues and challenges facing the cross-Pacific venturers that allows him to serve and tailor solutions to his clients’ need to conduct business in the United States of America.

 

Mr. Chang earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of California at Berkeley and his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California at Davis School of Law.

 

Mr. Chang is a member of the California State Bar and is admitted to practice before all courts in the State of California as well as before the Northern Federal District Court of California. He is a member of the Bar Association of Alameda County. Mr. Chang is fluent in Mandarin and proficient in Cantonese.

Darius Chan was born in Hong Kong and moved to the United States when he was eight years old. Mr. Chan is the founding partner of CCD Law Group, P.C., a Northern California law firm that provides a full range of legal services.

 

Mr. Chan has been practicing law since 2005 and has handled over a thousand litigation and transactional cases. With a main focus in real estate and business law,

 

Mr. Chan has counseled numerous real property owners and developers, entrepreneurs, and companies (both domestic and international). Prior to starting his own law firm,

 

Mr. Chan was an in-house counsel for a start-up software technology company and helped develop the company into a leading multinational software company.

 

Mr. Chan has been recognized by a California State Assembly Member, a California State Senator, and a Member of Congress for his outstanding leadership and commitment in promoting business, trade and civic engagement.

 

Mr. Chan is also a California real estate broker and one of the founding partners of Beam Properties, Inc. (a property management company) and SGDM, LLC (a construction company). Mr. Chan received his Juris Doctorate degree from GGU, School of Law, his MBA from UCLA, and his BA from UC Berkeley.

 

When not assisting clients with their needs, Mr. Chan also serves as a board member on several non-profit organizations, and enjoys traveling and playing golf and basketball. Mr. Chan is fluent in Cantonese and proficient in Mandarin.
